tear trough

One of the most noticeable signs of getting older is when the under-eye area starts to age. The skin around the eye is the most delicate on the body yet is the most neglected when we consider our skincare. Dark circles and the under-eye (tear trough) begins to hollow as a result of lifestyle and genetic factors. Naturally over time the skin in the eye area starts to thin, subcutaneous fat in the tissue starts to diminish and hyperpigmentation appears. From 40, the eye sockets enlarge, bone reabsorption means loss of the cheekbones that can help support the tear trough and the fat pads under the eye start to slip. Hyperpigmentation in the area is due to genetics, sun exposure as well as visible blood vessels under the skin. Dehydration and fatigue can all contribute.

How can the eye area be treated?

Teosyal’s tear trough treatment using Redensity II, is specifically designed to treat the eye area using hyaluronic acid and tiny injections. It claims to be the first filler of its kind as it tackles the three issues we face as the eye area ages: dark circles, fine lines and deep hollows under the eyes.

What happens during treatment?

After numbing the area using a cream, a cannula is used to make a few injections under the eye. The average treatment takes about 5 -30 minutes. Immediately after the treatment the area will show some redness and slight bruising can occur.

When will I see results?

The results are immediate and can last up to 12 months. You are always encouraged to attend a two-week review following any injectable treatment you have with us.
