The skin undergoes changes as we age and by age 35, our skin's thickness has decreased by about 22%. Hyaluronic acid is present in the dermis and can retain up to 50% of its own weight in water. Loss of intrinsic hyaluronic acid as we age results in loss of skin elasticity and greater fragility.
At Park Street Clinic we offer two types of hyalouronic acid skin-booster treatments to improve skin quality. These are the Redensity [I] Beauty Booster and Juvederm Volite.
Rendensity [I] requires three separate treatments administered 3 weeks apart. Juvederm Volite is a one of treatment and results last up to 9 months.
What ingredients are in Redensity I Beauty Booster?
Hyaluronic acid is used in dermal fillers to correct fine lines, enhance cheek shape and volume and restore volume to lips. In addition to hyaluronic acid which provides hydration, the Beauty Booster contains 3 antioxidants to protect the skin from free-radical damage - Glutathione, N-Acetyl-L-Cystine and alpha-lipoic acid and 7 essential amino acids - leucine, isoleucine, valine, glycine, lysine, threonine and proline. Finally it delivers a boost by way of vitamin B6, zinc and copper.
When and where should it be used?
A Skin Booster treatment can be used regularly as a core treatment to help prevent cutaneous ageing or as an alternative to complement other treatments. It is great to use on specific occasions to re-hydrate and to give a new glow to your skin. These treatments are suitable for the treatment of the face, neck, decolletage and back of hands.
For optimum results it is recommended to follow the complete treatment plan:
- 3 sessions at 3 week intervals
- For maintenance treatment: 1 session 3 x year
What happens during the session?
The session consists of micro-injections given with a very fine needle using tiny amounts of Redensity along lines and wrinkles and evenly spread across face, neck or decolletage. A session will last approximately 20 minutes. Before the session, a full
assessment of your skin will be made and potential side-effects and benefits will be discussed.
